Together The People win tickets

WE ALL WANT TO MEET PEOPLE FROM HISTORY.

THE TROUBLE IS EVERYONE IS DEAD.

Did you know that Vikings didn’t actually wear horns? A fact my daughter taught me from her favourite TV show.

So there you go.

Anyway…

We are super excited in this house about a new festival that’s coming to our home town of Brighton this September.

Yeh, yeh, there are some world class iconic artists at Together The People like:

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS | LEVELLERS | MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS | PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING | ROOTS MANUVA | BILLY BRAGG | LUCY ROSE | GHOSTPOET | BRAKES | THE XCERTS | SCOTT MATTHEWS | DIZRAELI AND THE SMALL GODS + MORE

BUT what is most exciting for us is Horrible Histories LIVE!

If this stuff was around when I was at school I’m absolutely sure I’d have scored a big GCSE A, rather than starring out the window and avoiding the sweaty armpits of our History teacher. These guys are BRILLIANT! We can’t wait to see BARMY BRITAIN Live. According to the write up, it’s History with the nasty bits left in!

There will be loads of other stuff happening at the festival in Preston Park on 5th & 6th September. With so many great Brighton people and independent companies involved, including the concert promoters One Inch Badge and top music venue Concorde2, it’s definitely going to go off with a bang.

Big Eats Co. smoke shack #BigEatsOnTourBrighton’s popular street food market Street Diner will be introducing some of the best local food, including our favourite people the Big Eats Co. from The Druids Arms. They’ll be serving up their home smoked grub including their legend burgers, pulled pork and smoked beef brisket. YUM!

Other Brighton partners include Resident Music, Juice 107.2, The Argus, Drink In Brighton Duke Of York’s and Duke’s at Komedia, and the event will support local community groups and charities and offer a platform for them to engage with our community.

So how do I WIN? Just tell us what you’re most excited about seeing at Together The People below and 1 lucky person will WIN a family ticket AND Brighton’s finest burgers from Big Eats Co.

Oh, and the horn thing. For your information, it was actually the Celts. Just so you know.

I really want to win these! Seeing Super Furry Animals in my local park would be amazing – although I’d have to cover Ryland’s ears for ‘The Man Don’t Give a F&^%!’

  2. Julie VanAckeren

Horrible histories, on stage in my local park rather than on the tv. My son Tomas aged 10 loves this…

  3. Sally Smith

Spent hours watching Horrible Histories with the kids over the years, so that’s got to be done! Public Service Broadcasting are my go to band on my iPod at the moment, and have always wanted to see Martha Reeves live.

  4. Ziggi

“I love you, you are the milkman of human kindness, oh leave an extra pint…”
    Billy Bragg, baby!! ❤

  5. Sarah Betts

Sarah and poppy sat alone in their house on a cold rainy day, staring wistfully out the window..they heard a loud BUMP! which was quickly followed by A Cat in a Hat whisking them both down to Preston Park to see his show!!! : )

  6. Lynsey Spraggs

My boys love horrible histories and my youngest will love cat in a hat. I love Brighton, it’s one oft favourite places

  7. Jamie Fennessy

Definitely Lucy Spraggan, such an inspiring woman and an incredible lyricist, been a fan since she was on the X Factor and have never had a chance to see her live!

  8. Laura S

Would love to win these for a little break. Love to see the Horrible Histories crew though, even as an adult I find the songs too catchy 🙂
